East and West Germany were reunited in October 3, 1990 after being separated for 40 years. This push for unification was made possible by Chancellor Helmut Kohl. With all of this happening, there were two countries, Great Britain and France, who were not happy with this unification. This was due to having a fear that Germany would make a very powerful country. The process of combining both countries together proved to be a success. There is still some work being done on the eastern part of Germany, in order to help bring it to a more modern stage.
