The Gulf war comes to an end in 1991. This happened due to Iraq accepting all twelve resolutions enforced by the United Nations. This consisted of the return of Allied prisoners of war and Kuwait citizens that were held hostage in Iraq. They were also required to pay for damages that were caused by them. At one time, Iraq did have the largest army in the world, but that has been destroyed.
President Bush gives the announcement that the Gulf War has come to an end.
